Using a Database For Your Network Marketing Business

When you own a network marketing business, you will have a great deal of data to store. There's order information, customer info, downline information, lead info and marketing information.

While it's possible to store some information within a spreadsheet, I prefer to store everything within a database that I can then customize with the reports I want.

Some information will be supplied to you by your company. Other information you'll be managing yourself.

My own personalized favorite is FilemakerPro by Claris. I've used it ever since my first computer. It's available for both the PC along with the Mac. There are all kinds of other good databases out truth be told there.

With a database it is possible to store absolutely everything you need and manipulate it any way you want. For case, I can store my downline within a database and make among the list of fields birthdays. Then month after month I can run a report of whose birthday is usually that month. In add-on, I can store the monthly sales level of each of my downline members and if I have to do some type of recognition I can run a report for any month's data.

I also store company leads and customer leads in the database. In addition to name, address, phone number and email address contact information, I can also input whatever took place during our communications and materials we agreed I ought to contact them. Have you ever spoken to a lead and the human being has said "we are moving but I'd love that you call me in 4 months? " A database enables me to input both that they are moving along with the month I'm to telephone back.

I can store while i mailed a customer lead a catalog of course, if an order was positioned. I can run reports to show who ordered which a long time.

When you market, you intend to track your ads. I'm able to store the contact information of an newspaper or a website along with cost and results, all on one record. I can even specify "type" and for websites I'm able to assign a type including "parenting site" or "health site". Then if I have a month I have to run ads only with parenting sites, I can pull that information up from my marketing database.

I believe that you'll have a lot better control over your data if you ever store it all within a database.
